YOU CAN HELP

Thank you for your interest in our "Stop the Asphalt Plant!" campaign.

Russian River Community Cares is committed to preserving the natural beauty, health, and prosperity of the Russian River region of Sonoma County, and dedicated to educating our community of the risks associated with the petrochemical asphalt plant proposed by Canyon Rock in Forestville, CA.

Ways you can help:

1) CONTRIBUTE TO OUR CAMPAIGN

Russian River Community Cares 501(c)(3) was formed by a volunteer group of concerned citizens, business owners, and community and environmental organizations all who have donated their time, talent, and energy to Stop the Asphalt Plant.

Your contribution will help fund our efforts to educate the community, produce campaign materials, and expand our outreach programs.

2) - Let your voice be heard

Write to our County Board of Supervisors to let them know you are opposed to the proposed asphalt plant and ask them to vote "no" on the permit when called upon for their vote.

Here is a sample letter in PDF form that can be submitted as written, or edited to reflect your personal position.  Simply copy the text of the letter and paste into your email to the Supervisors and other elected officials.

All five county Supervisors have a vote, and it's essential that all of them hear from the community who oppose the proposed asphalt plant.  Please send opposition letters to ALL five Supervisors, as well as Robert Aguero at Permit Sonoma.

Here are emails for each Sonoma County Supervisor, as well as Robert Aguero, Sonoma County Senior Environmental Specialist assigned to the permit:

Lynda Hopkins / District 5:  district5@sonoma-county.org

James Gore / District 4:  district4@sonoma-county.org

Chris Coursey / District 3:  district3@sonoma-county.org

David Rabbitt / District 2:  David.Rabbitt@sonoma-county.org

Susan Gorin / District 1:  Susan.Gorin@sonoma-county.org

Robert Aguero / Permit Sonoma:  Robert.Aguero@sonoma-county.org
